Office of University Relations

The Office of the Director is responsible Media Relations, Public Relations, Community Affairs and Marketing.

The Office of University Relations is committed to seeking opportunities for establishing and maintaining goodwill and mutually beneficial relations between University of the Southern Caribbean and its various publics, in an effort to ensure that the University acquires and sustains a competitive advantage among tertiary providers in the region.

Objectives

  1. To establish/reinforce the understanding among faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders as to their role in creating a positive image of the University of the Southern Caribbean.
  2. To establish an awareness of the University of the Southern Caribbean in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean region and also maintain mutually beneficial links between the University of the Southern Caribbean, Government Organizations, and Non-Governmental Organizations.
  3. To engage in increased community relations activities as the services of the institution expand.

Media Relations

  • Publish News Releases – we write and distribute news releases on behalf of the University administration to publicize accomplishments of University faculty, staff, and students and announcing institutional priorities.
  • Organize Media Conferences and Interviews
  • Organize Media Coverage for Events

Public Relations

  • Provide public relations support and counsel to departments of the university

Community Affairs

  • Engage in increased community relations activities as the services of the University expand.

Marketing and Advertising

  • Collaborate with University departments to develop clear and compelling marketing strategies that will promote the activities and events of the University in a positive way.

Life on the USC Campus is marked with numerous public and official occasions each year. Each occasion allows us to share special moments on campus with our faculty, staff, students, friends, family, and the community at large. Our dedicated team of workers ensure that these occasions are executed with a touch of elegance, high efficiency, and at a class second to none.

Recruitment and Enrolment Management

The objective of the office of Recruitment and Enrolment Management is to strategically plan and execute customer service and marketing strategies to accomplish the enrolment goals of the University.

What We Do

  • Provide assistance to prospective students by following stipulated enrolment procedures as outlined by USC.
  • Distribute University Promotional material regularly.
  • Represent USC at local fairs and college days.
  • Arrange student application to admission conversion rates by providing customer follow-up and other value-added services to students.

Communications Unit

The Communications Unit is here to:

  • Ensure that relevant, accurate information and timely information is disseminated to the various publics of the University
  • Provide publications, informational and promotional materials, organizational documents, and branding solutions for the advancements of the University
  • Provide creative services for the University in the areas of photography and graphic design
  • Contribute to maintaining a current, functional user-friendly University website
  • Establish a graphics standards policy and manage the appropriate use of university trademarks
  • Empower all USC stakeholders to embrace their role in role creating a positive image of the University of the Southern Caribbean.
