As a Christian institution, the University of the Southern Caribbean advocates the practical application of academic and spiritual insight. We train our students to become not only servants of God, but servants of God to humanity. As part of our mandate therefore, we constantly seek out opportunities to enrich the lives of others.
Last August, the University planned and coordinated an event coined “Love You Can Feel” aimed at sharing the USC love to passersby in the Brian Lara Promenade, Port of Spain. banner. This year, the institution turned 90th and to share our love and give back to the community in a meaningful way, the Love You Can Feel event was hosted once more.
On April 13, we spent the day in Port of Spain offering: Prayer/Spiritual Counselling, Health and Wellness Consultations, Nutritional Consultations, Free Hair Cuts, Hugs, Clothing, Books, Food Items and Seedlings and engage in conversations with interested persons.
In attendance of the event was His Worship, Alderman Joel Martinez, Mayor, City of Port of Spain; Dr. Robert Liverpool, Assistant to the President (USC); and Dr. Gandalal Samlalsingh, Director of Trust Services, Stewardship and ASI Ministries of the CaribbeanUnion Conference of SDA.
The results of the event can be measured by the large number of smiles and "thank-you's" that were captured that day.
