USC Bids Farewell to Dr. Sylvan Lashley
Dr. Sylvan Lashley, Dean of the School of Business, Entrepreneurship and Continuing/Professional Studies at the University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) has retired from active service in the field of Education within the Caribbean Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Dr. Lashley who returned to USC in May 2013 served the University in various capacities including Dean, Graduate, Continuing and Professional Studies; Dean, School of Business Entrepreneurship and Continuing Education and most recently as Interim President of the University.
A native of Barbados, Dr. Lashley has contributed to the development of Christian Education for over 40 years in both the Caribbean and the United States. He will continue making stellar contributions to Christian education as he assumes his new post as Principal of the Greater Atlanta Adventist Academy located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
The University’s Board of Trustees is grateful to Dr. Lashley for his transformational years of service and leadership. He will be best remembered by students, faculty and staff for his warmth, drive, jovial spirit and wit.
During his tenure as Interim President, Dr. Lashley’s resounding rap/chant was a feature of many assembly sessions.

As we bid farewell to Dr. Sylvan Lashley, we pray that God continues to direct him on his mission to change the world through Christian education.
