Brown Bag Forum

Brown Bag Forum

Another President’s Brown Bag forum has come and gone and in spite of this semester’s session being held during the mid-semester break, the success was just the same. Discussing the book written by Dr. Stephen R. Harper, students, along with a faculty member converged to have scholarly and intellectual discussions on Dr. Harper’s Book: “The Education System in Trinidad and Tobago: A Paradox.”

The lengthy discourse focused on topics from his book such as: The purpose of education; graduates being seen as threats in the workplace; education as an instrument to achieve upward mobility; and education as a weapon.

Curtis Henry, one of the students present at the event, highlighted that he was able to gain knowledge and foresight into some of the issues and problems that may arise after a degree has been conferred on him.

Brown Bag Forums are held every semester and serve to engage budding minds in intellectual discussions and allow them to broaden their knowledge base.
