Prominent intellectuals met on February 23, at the University of the Southern Caribbean, to participate in an Indo-Caribbean Diaspora Seminar, hosted by the University’s History and Social Studies Department.
A new phase of the Campus Ministries’ Day of Prayer was launched when the department positioned students who delivered promises and offered prayer to those in need in every faculty building.
More than 25 companies and organisations were represented at the 2012 Recruitment Symposium, hosted by Career Development and Services.

Recently at the Discovery Lecture, hosted by the school of Sciences & Technology, Mr Ricardo Rodriguez of USC’s Department of Mathematics, Physics and Technology, addressed radiation and methods of its control and regulation.

La Semaine de Prière Française (French Week of Prayer) began on January 20, 2012 in the University’s main auditorium with joyous, vigorous participants.
On Friday, January 20, 2012 the Wellness USC programme held its second graduation ceremony, and 20 graduates were given certificates of commitment and participation, and medals of completion.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2012 the Department of Language and Communication of the University of the Southern Caribbean donated scores of children’s books to the Maracas SDA primary school.

The New Year 2012 signals new beginnings for USC, along with its new President, Dr. Clinton A. Valley. At the first 2012 Student Assembly, he presented his vision for USC for the next five (5) years.

USC was awarded first place among the tertiary institutions in Trinidad and Tobago for Excellence in Student Support Services during the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago’s Quality Assurance Month - November, 2011.

The University of the Southern Caribbean’s Annual Feast of Lights and Tree Lighting Event was held on November 27, 2011 in the University’s main auditorium. Faculty, staff, students and community members were all in attendance. 

The 9th Annual Public Lecture Series of the George Carlington Simmons Book Collection located at the University of the Southern Caribbean, took place on Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Calypso Lounge of the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

 A one-day seminar was held by the University’s School of Business on Sunday November 20, under the theme “The Role of Entrepreneurship in Economic Development.” 

On November 8, many gathered to honour the faithful service of five individuals, formerly connected to the University of the Southern Caribbean, the Caribbean Union Conference and the South Caribbean Conference. These individuals were: Dr. Eugene Daniel, Dr. Trevor Gardner, Dr. Patricia Gardner, Pastor Clyde Thomas, and Mr Rolph Cedeno. 

The University of the Southern Caribbean has announced the appointment of Dr. Clinton A. Valley as its next president.

This highly anticipated event, originally carded for February of this year, came to fruition during the week of October 17 – 21. Among the activities planned for the week were: a science parade, an assembly session, displays, and a grand show and exhibition that culminated the week of events.

The History and Social Studies Club in collaboration with the School of Humanities hosted a lecture series on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 in the University Auditorium.

Another President’s Brown Bag forum has come and gone and in spite of this semester’s session being held during the mid-semester break

A friendly co-ed game between students from the School of Theology and Religion and the School of Humanities took place on Thursday October 13, on the USC playing field.

First Phase of the USC Website Redesign Project Officially Launched

On September 17, 2011, Campus Ministries re-launched its “Love They Can Feel” Student Ministries in the Main Auditorium of the University of the Southern Caribbean.
