On March 4, 2008, The Career Development Services Department of the University of the Southern Caribbean invited the National Entrepreneurship Development Company Limited (NEDCO) to conduct a seminar on The Prospective Entrepreneur: How to make your business dreams a reality.
Mr. Fiaz Ali, Regional Co-ordinator for NEDCO, delivered a stimulating presentation to the listening audience on how to start a business. The lecture included examples of businessmen who started small businesses and are now millionaires. Mr. Arthur John, Field Officer for NEDCO, dealt with the question and answer section, funding, and basic requirements for a NEDCO loan.
One of the services NEDCO provides is training for prospective entrepreneurs, which caters to the needs of the individual and the business venture. The Entrepreneurial Training Institute and Incubation Centre (ETIIC), bridges the gap between your business idea and a successful business. This programme is an initiative of (NEDCO) designed to accelerate the growth and success of Small and Micro Enterprises by providing business support resources and services. The primary goal of this programme is to foster entrepreneurship on the national and regional landscape, and to provide start-ups with critical advisory services.
Finally, the Youth Entrepreneurial Success (YES) programme was designed for individuals between the ages of 16 through 25 years. ‘YES’ adopts a fresh and dynamic approach, combining business and lifestyle development programmes designed to encourage our youth to launch successful business enterprises.
